The Royal Palace is one of the four residences used by the Bourbon Kings of Naples during their rule of the Kingdom of Two Sicilies (1730-1860): one is in Caserta, another on the Capodimonte hill overlooking Naples, and the third (now the site of the agricultural department of the University of Naples) is in Portici on the slopes of Vesuvius.
The Royal Palace is on the site of an earlier building  (an older Spanish viceroyal residence from the early 16th century). The royal residence was moved to Caserta in the 18th century, as that inland town was more defensible from naval assault than Naples.
The architect chosen for that palace was Domenico Fontana. The building was put up on the site of an even older Spanish viceroyal residence from the early 16th century.

Only for simple guided tours is possible to pay cash the same day of the excursion to our guide. In this case we ask for a valid credit card number with expiration date as guarantee, hotel location where the group will be staying, a cellurar phone number to contact in case of emergency. We do not charge anything from the credit card. If you prefer this option click on " contact us " and fill the excursion request form.

Please, note that there will be no charge if you cancel your reservation by e-mail within at least 7 days before the date of requested service. If is not done in these terms, our company reserves the right to debit the total amount of requested services.
